This is an epic animated, fantasy, mythological adventure and journey into a volatile unknown that will stir the reader's every emotion while presenting real-life examples that everyone can relate to. It is a story of extreme good and innocence in a world of chaos from the resulting seductive effects of evil. It clearly defines the difference and becomes the family friendly alternative. If readers are looking for a different reading experience that will keep them on the edge of their seat, and touch their heart, they'll find it in "LITTLUNS: and the Book of Darkness."

Dove Worldview:

If one knows the book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, it will help the reader appreciate this symbolic story more. But being an expert in the Book of Revelation is not required to appreciate this story of the battle and struggles of good versus evil. The author takes us into a world which is reminiscent of Tolkien.

There are goblins and dwarfs and a necromancer and sorcerers and holy men and those who seek to fulfill the Book of Darkness and those who look to follow God's word and light and love. The content is recommended for ages twelve plus as it does include the use of drugs to poison food and drink, and the use of dark arts. Still, the Bible is quoted and this symbolic story parallels the Book of Revelation and the dark figure who is akin to the Anti-Christ, an evil character who desires to rule the world and to rid it of light and love.

This story is well written and the good and evil aspects are a feature throughout the book. Parents should consult our content listing below. The book is not for everyone, but many will enjoy its vivid descriptions and writing. It is a very literate story with well written and defined good and evil characters. Those who especially enjoy medieval literature and allegorical stories mirroring Biblical themes will enjoy this book. We gladly award this book our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages twelve plus. There is hope for the characters in this story who wish to avoid the dark side of this shadow world!

I loved the book "Littluns, AND THE BOOK OF DARKNESS!!!" I am looking forward to reading the sequel!! There has to be one!

I found the travels of Sneetz, both exciting and frustrating! I wanted so badly for the one issue to be different although it was what it had to be!  A very creative solution!

His Grossness will create a wonderful image in a child's mind as his descriptive sounds and utterances  cause giggles galore!

A more evil creation than Equassym Enturim as the Necromancer could not be better described by the author. I had the feeling that this evil entity could not be detained without a Higher Power intervening.

I was holding my breath throughout the ending! Whew!

Mark Glamack has taken the best of many thoughts of enlightened souls and turned it into a tale that will weave joy and intrigue through the imaginations of young and old alike.

Review for Novel ”The Littluns” by Mark Glamack

The Littluns is a wonderful story!  The characters immediately draw you into this fantasy novel.  Once inside the story, you feel yourself transported into this world of magic.  Awesome.

The Littluns is an adventure about friendship, loyalty, courage and determination.  The main character has to face a task which involves life and death.  While others before him who have been given this task have returned successfully, there is still a chance that he may not.  The character must rely on his strength and courage to complete the task and hopefully return home.  He experiences fear, sadness, danger and ultimately...well you'll have to experience it foryourself.  Along the way, he strengthens the bonds with his friends who are traveling with him and develops new friendships too. I, also, experienced these same feelings while reading the Littluns.

There is a struggle between good and evil that is similar to that of the Harry Potter series because the main characters use their courage, determination and a little bit of magic to overcome the forces of evil.

I found the setting and the rest of the characters very intriguing.  The way they go about doing their every day things made me interested in reading more.  I loved the way the author displayed the strong friendships in the novel.  The friends are supportive of each other and each others’ ideas and opinions. They are loyal to each other even when separated by evil.  He gives a wonderful example of what true friendships should be!

I was always excited to read further in the Littluns to see what was going to happen next, who was going where, who was going to do what, and how they succeeded in overcoming their fears.  I hope the author writes a sequel to the Littluns because I would like to see what happens to this world when evil no longer rules.  I thought the Littluns was an inspiring story of loyalty and hard work.  It is a great book for students and adults alike.

                                                                                        Novel Review

What could possibly happen?

Every precaution is taken that nothing will happen on an annual outing of renewal.

In the very secret Hollow Hills, civic duty calls upon five Littluns to go out into the land of Terra Fermata and find new things to bring back.  Being completely isolated from the rest of Terra Fermata, the Littlun way of life is innocent, and very happy.

Out they go… where an outing becomes a journey of survival against the most wretched characters you will ever meet, and the pinnacle of consummate evil, The Necromancer. So much so, the reader will want to be sure their door is locked and there are more lights on than just the reading lamp!

However, with darkness there must be light(ness) in good storytelling.

Elderond of the light, thank goodness, is brought into the story, which gives healing, and wisdom, with sprinkles of magic that gives the reader a wonderful respite.  There are other most astounding characters of light to help console the reader along the way and, whew!, do we need them!

The story is complex but fast moving and easily understood along with many plot twists that I didn’t see coming!  Also there is nothing here that parents should find offensive.

After finishing the book, several days later I was talking to a friend and mentioned that I saw this really great movie.

He asked me what the name was and I said Littluns.  I paused and thought - hey wait a minute that wasn't a movie that was a book I read!

Littluns Critique

The Littluns was an amazing and different reading experience. It was like a movie, going through each page with artistically colored pictures depicting the scene on every other page.

The book is about a group of friends, going out of there haven up in the mountains, a nice warm place where everyone is nice, as nice as can be, into a world where evil spreads like the plague. They go down to find new recipes, seeds, and inventions to use in their own little world. They are split up early into the hunt, and find get mixed up into an evil being spread into the world by the Necromancer. The Necromancer’s goal is to take over the whole country, bend everyone to His will.

As Sneetz, as the main character is called, goes through the process of finding himself, he learns what life is truly like, the hardships in it, and the friendships you can make. Littluns shows what life is like, how everyone eventually goes through it to the end, and how things can be lost, and never found.

The Littluns is an amazing Christian book, showing what life is like for everyone, and what life will be like as it shows in the last Book, in an amazing twist of fantasy.

I recommend the book to anyone; it is for any age, from a small child, to an elderly couple, to people who just want to read it for the genre, or to people who want to read it for the message in it. This book is one of the best reading experiences I have had in my entire life.

                                                                    RE:  Review of “LITTLUNS” Novel

Extraordinary, to say the least, “Littluns”, by author and illustrator Mark Glamack, is a novel that is hard to put down.  In fact, you would not want to take this book to bed at night hoping that it will help you fall asleep.  Instead, it will keep you up to late in the night!

“Littluns” was such a pleasure to read that I would read it over and over again.  Some readers will read the book as pure fantasy, and enjoy the author’s imaginary world.  Others will be able to relate to parts of the story, as when making the choice of good or evil, and everyday life encounters.  While some will go deeper into the reality and spiritual aspects of this truly brilliant masterpiece.

Mr. Glamack’s properly timed placements of the illustrations will help the reader visualize the animated characters and environment.  Throughout the entire novel, every little detail of the events taking place puts the reader inside the book.  I actually found myself acting out some of these details.  Mark Glamack’s unique talent will set the stage for the reader, as if you feel that you are in the Movie Theater.

Refreshing, from a Parent’s point of view, is knowing that “Littluns” is written absent of inappropriate and offensive language, and will not affect the onset and continued interest of  the reader.  The book stays in balance with humor, terror, innocence, action, morals, truth, sadness, hope, and feelings.  The reader will find this novel impossible to predict and full of surprises.

It has been an honor and privilege to have been one of the first few chosen to read this unique novel,

“Littluns” -- A book of Light.

I have never seen a fantasy that had you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. The characters are so different, and the story is one of so many twists and turns you're not sure where it is going. There is never a dull moment, you don't want it to end. The book may have been written for young adults, but I'm 59 reading it to grandchildren who are not old enough to read yet, but it holds my interest. It's not a book that you can just read as a bedtime story, because it takes several nights to complete, but you want to come back to it, and see what happens next. The color illustrations are so beautifully done that you take a lot of time looking at all the detail, and still you go back and find things you have missed. I would recommend this book to anyone, there is nothing offensive, but there sure is a lot of action. I believe that this is the only book I have read that it's almost like watching a movie... I am hoping the author writes a sequel to this, in fact it would make a great full length animated film. I like it better than Shrek, and I like Shrek too!

"Littluns" review by Bruce Brinick

“Read Littluns over the weekend and enjoyed it immensely. I tried real hard to find something wrong with it and I couldn't.

Well written - Beautifully illustrated - Compelling story - Kept my interest sufficiently to spend most of my waking hours this past weekend reading it. Well developed characters. Excellent possibility for a sequel or more, I hope.

Even without the illustrations, the characters were easy to imagine. "His Grossness" genuinely did gross me out as I envisioned each and every socially unacceptable thing he's habituated. Necromancer reminds me of our President. The people who wanted to give him unrestrained authority remind me of many US citizens today. Listening to Necromancer explain why his deceit would work so effortlessly and effectively, saddened me to think of how well many of us have been conditioned NOT to question illogical constructs and easily refutable "assumptions". We're so busy arguing about organized sports, democrats vs republicans and Obama vs McCain, we totally miss the fact that a private institution just doubled the supply of US dollars/debt and neither can nor ever has been audited.

I especially liked the discernible parallels and references to real social/governmental problems suffered in the real world and Terra Fermata. I'd recommend Littluns to anyone who enjoys literary and artistic imagination. Littluns stands on its own as a work of creative fiction and between the lines as an allegory of new world order, truth, faith, hope and spiritual conflict.”

Hootsey Bootsey!! It's a good read!

I recommend you read this book with your children.... they will love it and so will you. There are many things to discuss with them as you read-- about the good and the not so good! It will not only open your mind again to the fantasies of when you were young, but will allow you to guide your children as they use their imaginations as well.

I recommend it for "children" of all ages, 7 to 70.
